The Wisdom of Butter
Lyrics by Richard White, from the CD "A Firefly's Dream"
© 2000

Sky feminine
Sunset turns pale blue
Bottles of stars opened to breathe
And way up high, I see the Moon weeps a cobweb light.

I feel the breeze,
Pouring warm upon my skin
I feel like ridin with my top down
With my old friends, the Summer night and the Ocean sounds.

Sometimes shadows,
Turn into men.
Sometimes the Sun spins round and round and round again.
Sometimes you don't know, who you are or who you're meant to be.

It's all around you
Just open your eyes and see.
Find your center, don't let go.
It's as simple, as feelin the breeze and the warm Moonlight.

Poetry
Poems by Richard and others will be posted here soon (copyrights in progress). In the meantime enjoy this very old poem by the Japanese monk Ryoko. His small hut in the woods was robbed one evening while he went for a walk. When he returned and saw his things missing, he wrote this short yet powerful verse:

The thief left it behind, the Moon, in the window.
